After completing this training course, you will be able to:
- Develop a deeper understanding of Mount Etna and its volcano-tectonic features at different scales.
- Plan a UAS survey using C0-class to enterprise-level models, including those equipped with thermal cameras and RTK GNSS ground control points.
- Actively collaborate in UAS surveys, georeferencing, the monitoring of volcanic activity, and the recognition of volcano-tectonic structures.
- Process imagery data using Structure from Motion (SfM) algorithms to generate orthomosaics, Digital Surface Models (DSM), and 3D models (e.g., Agisoft Metashape).
- Enhance your understanding of how GPS works and how it can be used to improve the referencing of UAS-derived models.
- Analyze data using Immersive Virtual Reality systems and GIS.
At the end of the Training Course the University of Milano-Bicocca will release a digital certificate (Open Badge) to recognize the participant’s skills.
